Best performing modern glove you've ever used ???

Postby RedSoxFan81 » June 20th, 2008, 6:58 pm

Just would like to hear feedback on the best performing modern glove you've had. I know some of us play baseball, some play softball , some just like to play catch from time to time. I play softball probably 3-4 nights a week, then go play tournaments on the weekends. I'm leaning towards buying a new glove, but haven't been able to put my finger on what to go with. My current gamer is a PRO TROY 25 12" Rawlings, however it's a bit big for my taste being that I play Shortstop/2nd base. Doesn't allow for really quick transfers and also is a little too big to flip the ball out of the glove to start double plays. I do like using it for 3rd base where it gives me a little more range and I don't have to worry about turning double plays. I actually have an 11 1/4 A2000 that I love, but it's on the small side for softball, you get NO margin for error. I had an 11 3/4 pro preferred that I liked the size of but the performance was not good, the ball kicked out of the palm like no glove i've ever owned even when fully broken in. However I do like a light glove , which the pro preferred definitely was.Look forward to your replies

I'm a big believer in the Nokona buffalo gloves. There is a gorgeous one on Ebay right now, that you might like. I would buy it myself but I wanted a bigger glove (I use the 12" AMG175BF and today just bought a Rawlings Gold Glove 12") for me. I think the auction ends in a couple of hours. Good luck and I hope you find something you enjoy using!
Alas, my glove is better than my game.

mine still all the primo models, the trap 1.5 inches I use and love it, Its like owning a porsche. Nokona make awesome pitching models gloves, they run a little bigger. I used a amg-175k for about 5 years and it held up awesome. I sold it this winter and got more for it than I originally paid for it.
