Large Collection of gloves

Postby MGHProductions » March 10th, 2008, 8:37 pm

I ended up buying the large collection of gloves that was listed on ebay a week or two ago. In total, there are about 360 gloves. I'm going to start listing them on ebay and selling at the flea markets, but if anybody here is looking for anything in particular, please let me know. There are most of your typical makers... spalding, reach, nokona, rawlings and macgregor. There are a few odd brands including Dave Cook, a prewar Mexican glove, etc.

There are your typical guys Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Ted Williams, Clemente etc. An HOH Musial 1st baseman and probably a dozen near mint 1940s to 50's gloves. Mostly 1940's to 70's with some earlier.

Just shoot me requests and I'll let you know if I can help.
Thanks,
matt

Matt,

If there are any Stall & Dean, Ken Wel, or MacGregor Spider Web models I'd be interested in making an offer. You can send pics to gburker@mtb.com.

Thank you,

Geoff

Matt,
Sorry for the late reply. If you have the LHT Nokonas still, send a shot of them to joneses@comporium.net.

Thanks,

Any Clemente gloves?

Postby Randolph 30 » April 29th, 2009, 9:07 pm

New to the sight at the urging of "The glove Collector" and was wondering if there were any Clemente Mitts worth noting. If so, could you shoot me a pic or two if you are selling them. Looking forward to being able to share collecting stories etc. :)

Thanks, Dave

Way To Go!

Postby softball66 » April 30th, 2009, 7:43 am

Matt, that's one of the, largest purchases of a one lot glove buys that I've heard of. Just curious, what was your reaction when you received the gloves, thrilled, disappointed, mixed reaction? I guess the purchase of Andy Michael's 600 plus gloves might have been the biggest.
What were the real plums? What are you keeping yourself? How much time have you devoted to sorting, appraising the collection?
If you want, you can email me direct to glovecollector@mac.com. I would be interested in a newsletter story too.

Glad to see this old post get some action again. I will certainly pull out any Clemente's and shoot some pictures over. I sold the personal model Aaron when I first bought the deal, but I do have another is Vg condition if that is any interest to you.

As far as my thoughts on the gloves when they arrived, I was a little disappointed. A lot more later stuff then what was mentioned, so I was really disappointed. Honestly, there was one bat in the group ( I bought about 300 bats as well) that I really wanted. If that bat wasn't there, I probably wouldn't have done the deal.

I do have a bunch of stuff left, so keep the requests coming. If anyone is looking to buy in bulk, I can put a pretty good package price together.

My email is Bub13@aol.com. Feel free to shoot me emails or questions. I do have a list of gloves that were in the group, but I never updated what was sold, so it's not really helpful if I were to send it out.
Thanks again,
Matt

What do you have in the way of 12.75" or 13" (RHT or LHT) in Nokona, Mizuno or Rawlings? Also interested in Trap-Eze gloves if you have any in that group. Thanks.

Thanks for the replies.

I'll have to check on odd early catcher's mitts. I don't think there are any.

I have a pretty big Mizuno glove, I'll measure it and let you know.

Romeo, I let you know about all of the Yankees I have, no others yet

I can only one of the Clemente's so far and I should have 3. No Randolphs.

Pictures are coming for everyone else who asked.

Thanks
