LOL. As I've said before, the funniest comments are the ones based on reality, and this month I seemed to have gone on a rampage (and hope it isn't over). The funny thing is that had I seen that crescent with the hole I probably would have been a bidder on that one as well (have gloves, will trade). It's not like I hit the lottery or anything, it's just there seems to have been a vein of Candy gloves lately.

I really like 2-label gloves and don't recall many Doak Js with two labels. Was pretty committed on that one. I'm really not much of a glove box collector -- I like them but always seem to get talked out of them -- but figured I needed the Stall & Dean at the right price. I'll probably accidentally end up crushing the darn thing, though, if it gets here in one piece.

I dunno guys. I sifted through my posts in this section and I don't know how we veered over into Broke Back Mountain territory. Well, my apologies if my photo conjured up any feelings you may have been harboring. I say You go boys! Maybe next time I'll go Richard Gere style and include some kind of rodent. Anybody know where I can find a willing fuzzy sloth? :P

By the way, waited until after the black Stall & Dean ended for fear of a retaliatory jacking :-)

Light colored Reach full web with asbestos lining - $306 despite the large amount of ink on the back

White Reach with missing web - $255 with some "interesting" bidding

Image

Goldsmith Edd Roush glove - $232

Image

Image

Goldsmith Waite Hoyt glove - $290

Image

Image

Wilson Bill Barrett glove with box - can't believe this only went for $229.50

Image

D&M Tornado palm 1B mitt - don't know what to make of this one - no buyers at $4000.

Victor trophy ball from the 1920's - thought this was one of the coolest decorated trophy balls I've seen but no buyers @ $399

The interesting bidding was enough to keep me out. I think it would have done better if those bidders didn't come to the party.

And if the dude finished clipping off the web instead of leaving remnants. Beware of webless gloves with seams.

Definitely. Still a very nice looking glove and totally fixable. I really like the asbestos lined gloves.

Last item for the month:

Spalding fielders mitt (misidentified as a baseman's mitt) - ended at $255. I still think it was a good deal at that price despite condition issues.
