I'll bet it did create more interest in the man and his legend. I remember at least two Jackson bio's that came out shortly after the movie and the Bob Feller/Ted Williams backed petition to have him reinstated and eligible for the HOF. I think that one of the first purchases I made thru TGC was the D&M Joe Jackson glove from the Sports Doctor, but that was a few years after the movie came out.

As several of you know, I've done a bit of research on the Nokona Joe Jackson whose facsimile signature shows up on the odd Nokona basemitt the Latch as well as this fielders gloves. There was no record of "Shoeless" Joe Jackson having a contract with Nocona as far as I and the owners of the company were able to determine searching through Nocona records. Rather it might have been that the sporting goods founder, Robert Storey, who located a local resident by the name of Joe Jackson, whom he signed a contract with. Mr. Storey did this with the Nocona Billy Martin gloves as a "payback" for Wilson abusing Nocona's exclusive rights to "Chico" Carrasquel. That being said, this is still one of the highly sought Nokonas. And we had success with the replica Jacksons we had made with the Sports Doctor.
The movie did add luster to the myth. And it didn't hurt to have Babe Ruth say that he patterned his swing after Jackson's.
And, if memory serves, D&M did put out a Joe Jackson glove model but many of these prized Draper Maynards are scarce as hen's teeth. To wit, the recent Casey Stengel glove that showed up and the Heinie Groh D&M that had been in my collection.

Hello, just wanted to comment that the gentleman who has the dugouttreasures.com website won this glove(I believe). He hasn't updated his website with it yet but did see him post a picture of it on Net54baseball.com under the January pickups thread. Looks like he's already cleaned it up nicely as well.
