A Gentleman called me today, and is looking for a Rawlings PM1 fielders glove (Stan Musial) fits on left hand for right hand thrower, best condition possible.
He would like to be contacted by mail:

PM1

Postby cbrandis » May 25th, 2009, 4:40 pm

joe,
I have a PM1 but it is not endorsered. Pretty sure that the Musial model is just PM.
As PM1 was the original Playmaker late (1940s), and the Musial model didn't appear for several years (about 1952-53), I am not sure that we are talking about the same thing.
In fact, I think a PM Musial overlapped for several years the basic PM1 (both models existed during the mid-1950s). By the late 1950s, PM1 did have endorsements, but not of Musial.
But then, I could be wrong.

I've never seen a Musial-endorsed PM1 either, but I have several PM and PMM Musials that I would part with. The PMs are taller, anchored-web Personal models and are much more valuable. The PMMs are nice thick models, too, with a cool picture pocket, leather piping, and cloth label. The PMMs were one of the gloves that got me hooked into collecting. The PMM looks more like the PM1 model to me, and also resembles the statue at SF Giants stadium. I'll send him a letter at some point, but if he calls back feel free to send him my way. My cell phone is 714-402-7017 and email is glovecrazy@aol.com. Rob
