I think it was worth the $300+ but as we've seen "worth" is a little subjective. Dolph Luque gloves go for a premium because they are both very rare and sought after. Some very rare guys aren't that sought after but Dolph played for some very popular teams: Braves, Reds, Dodgers, and Giants, and I believe he was the first Cuban (first Latin player?). I also believe he was on the Reds 1919 World Series team. I'm sure Mike will do a better job at recollecting Dolph's career, but I think the main point is that some team collectors NEED him. Jim, didn't you get a lot of inquiries about your Luque? This one wasn't the highest quality glove of his I've seen, but it sure was clean and had that unique spyder web. If I didn't have a Luque already I would be in the mix.

Rob, I think you are right. He fills a couple of holes with one shot. First Cuban player, The Pride of Havana, and the a member of the 1919 Reds. I don't know that they are that rare though. I have seen a handful of them. I think this one commanded the price it did strictly on the condition. I would like to get a Martin Dihigo.
