Isn't it pleasant to have a player reach the 600 home run plateau who isn't over inflated either physically or by ego! Congratulations to Junior Griffey,
who accomplished 600 career home runs with a sweet swing.
And here's my favorite glove of his.

He very well might have the sweetest swing I've seen, definitely one of the sweetest swings to play MLB. I couldn't agree more. There was nothing worse than watching Barry Bonds ( THE MOST OBVIOUS CHEATER TO EVER PLAY THE GAME) break someone like Hank Aarons record.Oh well, at least he never got a world series ring. Without the injuries that plagued him through his career it very well could have been Griffey who would have passed Hank Aaron.

I too must agree on Griffey Jr. Had it not been for all the injuries he may have had 800 hr's. He still has some time to go and I am betting he will most likely get to 700 plus.

About Bonds. I see that you are a SOX fan. I heard today that if in fact Ortiz is done for the season, BB just may be donning a Red Sox uniform! So he may just get a WS ring after all. Food for thought.

Barry Bonds in a Red Sox uniform! I think I almost threw up a little in my mouth lol. That would be just plain terrible. I knew Ortiz was hurt, that's a major bummer that it's for the season.He's a great clutch hitter. I'm hoping that the rumor is true and that every team in baseball has blackballed barry bonds and that no team will sign him. It's better for the MLB as a whole. He's a cheater and not to mention the LAST guy that deserves a ring. My friend plays for the San Francisco Giants. When he walked in with some other player the guy was like hey Barry this is our new player we drafted in the first round. He glanced up for about half a second, didn't even so much as acknowledge him and went back to posting up in his Lazy Boy recliner.So i've heard first hand about how Bonds completely isolates himself from the team , and his whole demeanor. I prefer to see him not wearing any teams uniform, and definitely not a Red Sox uniform.

What is it about LH swings that look so smooth?--Griffey, Brett, Will Clark,--the list goes on and on--LH swings have always looked so much more fluid than a RH swing--can't explain why

I agree about lefty swings looking sweeter than righty swings ... can't explain why, though, unless it has something to do with lefties being "governed" by the artistic, creative side of their brains ... do they unconsciously smooth out the swing to make it look nicer?

Add Palmeiro to my favorite swings list, though he's a cheater too.

Sosa, MacGwire, Canseco, Ramirez ... all the big righties from the last few years .... have that chopping, hacking, "kill the ball" swing.

I never got to see Ted Williams swing a bat ... I hear it was a thing of beauty.

Gehrig and Ruth supposedly had nice swings, too.

Mickey Mantle said something in one of his memoirs about Joe DiMaggio's "perfect" right-handed swing ...

Mike Piazza had the best right handed swing I have seen, in his day, very fluid. My favorite griffey glove, was a 12 inch I think it was a youth,ful trap that was black with tan laces, about a $50 glove but it was awesome
