Old Tiger Stadium - with the short right field (~320 or so) and slightly overhanging right field bleachers plus a whopping 420 (or 440?) feet to straightaway center field. Dont forget the in play flagpole! Yes, there were obstructed view seats, yes there were issues with bathroom facilities, esp for women, but the place reeked of baseball nostalgia.

Comerica Park - Detroit Tigers, eh OK. The skyline view is nice but you are not really on top of the game.

Metrodome - probably best described as playing in a toilet with the lid down. It is functional, esp in the first two and last two months of the year, but not really pretty. The Twins are currently building a new ballpark but currently there is no provision for a retractable roof. Climate change cannot come fast enough. Anyone been to the Twins original home Metropolitan Stadium?

I caught a Sosa foul ball as well at Wrigley. I went to work the next week and the art teacher says to me "Nice catch, but who the heck wears a Hartford Whalers shirt to a Cubs game?" Apparently I made the WGN broadcast with my fashion statement.

Long live the Whale. My dad has a place outside Raleigh. Those wealthy, educated folks down in College Basketball world, when finding out I was a hockey player say, "didn't the Canes won that Big Tournament." Yep, they won that big tournament.

I worked for the Whale in college...couldn't believe I was getting paid $5 hr. to watch 41 games....and Schaefer was only $4.99 a case!

Going to Major League ball parks has been a priority with me since the early 1980's. At one time I was down to two parks (Milwaukee and Toronto) to have completed a list of them all. Since then I got to Mikwaukee (but they now have a new park). With expansion and new parks I have fallen behind again. I actually keep a little Excel sheet to keep score. As of today, I have been to 35 Major League Ballparks, nine different cities that have had two parks on the list, There are 12 parks that I currently have not attended. Planning to see the second park in San Diego this summer. My wife has agreed to some of the car trips to the midwest and northeast where we can pick up a few new ones. Of course every year a new park or two opens up so the list will probably never be completed, but that ia what maked it so fun!! Oh yeah, while we were in Japan I went to three Japanese games, that was terrific. Minor leagues are also a lot of fun, beginning with the Dallas Eagles in the 1950's.

That is amazing...I hope at some point later in my life I have the time and money to travel and see as many great parks as you have....That is sweet accomplishment...

I also really want to visit the baseball hall of fame...They would have to follow me around with a mop at that place from all the drool looking at the amazing stuff there...

HOF and Cooperstown are both great. I wish it was closer to Dallas I would visit all the time.

Living in the Mid-West for a few years and being just a few hours from several parks really helped me pump up the list. I haven't been to any new parks since 2003. Currently stuck at 12 plus Doubleday Field for extra credit. Removing my Fenway bias, Wrigley was probably my favorite road park, both in terms of atmosphere and experience.

Here's my work in progress.
Fenway Park - smells like home.
Yankee Stadium - overrated, looking forward to the new one.
Shea Stadium - gross.
PNC Park (Pittsburgh) - nice. Retro is the new cookie cutter.
Skydome - shhh, don't wake the fans.
Olympic Stadium - felt like I was in a hockey arena. Now batteen, Vlad O Meer GEE Rare O!
Comerica Park (Detroit) - most dangerous place I've ever been seen baseball at.
Wrigley Field - top notch.
Busch Stadium (former) - slipperiest concourse in baseball history.
Jacob's Field - world's tallest ballpark.
Riverfront Stadium - the baseball equivalent to grandma's patio.
Great American Ballpark (Cincinnati) - nice. See PNC Park.
+ Doubleday Field, handful of visits for the HOF game. Always a treat. The only pro field I've ever been to where I felt like I should be on the field instead of in the stands.
