HELP! My HOH Palms Have A Mind Of Their Own!

I recently had the good fortune of acquiring two "vintage" USA made HOH gloves. They both still need to be fully broken in. My concern with both of them is the palms do not have uniform intergrity as they crease and bend wherever they want and not necessarily where I want them to.

I'm in search of some remedies to this. One possible solution could be the installation of palm pads to stiffen up the areas as they were not made that way back in the 80's and early 90's (I think). Would this help or is there something else I can do?

If I do go the palm pad route where can I have this work done?

one idea that works sometimes is to wet the catching area with hot! water and push the wrinkle out by perhaps making the glove a little deeper then let dry with a softball tied in it a baseball is to small. I pound the pocket with a wooden malet looks like a softball on a stick before tieing. but be sure wrinkle is gone before letting it dry Then oil the next day with what ever you use. Doesn't always work but can't hurt

Another idea after the glove is dampened is to carefully pull the glove down over the head of a round-topped baseball bat, forming the pocket with great precision and force.

That is exactly how I get the gloves that I work on back in "gamer" shape after they are restored....and before the customer gets them....

That is the best price I've ever seen for one of those.

It's easy to make your own. Use the sawed-off handle from an old bat, a hammer handle or 1" dowel, then fasten a baseball of softball to it with a long bolt and washer.

One guy I know just drilled a hole right through a softball, slightly smaller than the handle he was using, then jammed the dowel almost all the way through. I think that he might have used some super glue or epoxy inside the hole and it stayed put.
