Newbie Here!

Postby Irish Tim » April 25th, 2008, 10:34 am

Hi all,
My name is Tim and I reside in the good ol' PA Dutch country of Lancaster. A few months ago, I discovered the truly fascinating hobby of vintage glove collecting. I bought and sold a few on eBay and now find myself seeking out any & all information I can possibly find (to my wife's chagrin;-)) Just discovered this site and am extremely happy to be here. After perusing some various posts, I now realize how much of a novice I really am. But I guess everyone here on this forum started somewhere near where I am now. That being said, I hope to contribute something to this community and be able to share my fast-growing knowledge with any folks who are interested. Judging by what I've read, I have much to learn. Right now, I just wanted to say Thanks for having me. I'm looking forward to sharing thoughts/ideas, and who knows?...maybe even some gloves with everyone.
Tim

Tim, welcome home to another of us who are lovers of the leather. lol I'm not a vintage collector like most of the other members, I buy beaters on eBay and give them new life. Sometimes I make a buck, most times I don't, and whether I do or don't isn't important to me. I like to think that I'm giving something back to the game that I love, a game that has given me so much enjoyment. I have developed a much greater appreciation for baseball gloves since I've gotten involved in doing this as a hobby and even more so since meeting the other very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly people on this forum. For me, there is nothing like a quality glove on my hand (new or old), when you're outside on a beautiful summer day, having a catch with your children or grandchildren. It simply doesn't get any better than that. lol Once again, welcome!
