If you buy a vintage glove from www.vintagebaseballglove.com you can have them paint it and personalize it - who in their right mind would ruin a perfectly good vintage glove this way!!! There are more than one choice to choose from. AHHHHHHHHH!!!!

You do know that it's the infamous "Mickey Mango" (aka many more Ebay ID's) selling these beauties. Have you seen the prices for these gems?

Glove Hostages

Postby GloveGypsy » April 21st, 2008, 11:06 pm

I am expecting a ransom note for the gloves in this guy's inventory.......
"give me $$$ or else, I will spray paint these!"

I am thinking about placing a call to Homeland Security or the ATFSP (Alcohol, Tobacco, Fire Arms and Spray Paint Squad) to conduct a hostage rescue attempt.

Well, I guess you don't need to be so concerned about some extraneous ink when your glove is covered by 1/32nd of an inch of latex.

And who cares who is correct in the lanolin vs. vaseline debate as well!

It wouldn't be so galling if he was using run-of-the-mill, modern, import gloves to create his works of art. Those would be kind of cool and I might be interested in one myself.

The supply of such "common" gloves is limitless and I doubt that a person buying one of these for the "artistic" merit gives a hoot if the glove itself is anything special.

But "defacing" rarer vintage, collectible gloves makes me want to puke.

These gloves are already masterpieces in their own right! Leave 'em alone!
