Question for Doc glove

Postby softball66 » March 31st, 2008, 4:29 pm

Bob, can you enlighten me and I think it would be edification for many of us on the forum. Were the Rawlings plant in Willow Springs and Ava Missouri,
the same place?
No. 2, I understand the Spalding warehouse from the '50s sometime forward was "across the road" from the Rawlings factory there. Was this the case when you got to Rawlings?
Also was Rawlings still making the Spalding gloves when you arrived?

The Ava plant was about 40 miles west from Willow Springs which was ball gloves' footballs'hochey glove and basketball manufacturing. Ava did helmets and protective gear They put to gather in 1980 when everything went to the orient. Then what was left was moved to Washington Mo about 6 years ago. Spalding owned Rawlings until the 60's when the goverment made spalding sell Rawlings sort of like the ma bell thing.I never did any Spalding my self but them and Rawlings used the same patterns.
