Information on Hutch?

Postby Musashi » March 14th, 2008, 12:13 am

Hi everyone, I'm a new member (and new g-lover) from Chicago - congratulations on the great site!

I'm new to the hobby, and I'm looking for any information on Hutch, the company. Surprisingly, there doesn't seem to be a lot of information about them on the web. I do know that they were based in Cinci, that the company dates back to at least the early 1900s, and that they don't seem to be in business anymore.

Does anybody know Hutch's history? I have seen some old examples of their work, but were they known as quality glovemakers? Did they put out a good product? How do Hutch gloves compare to other gloves of the same vintage? What was their best model, and did anybody noteworthy play with a Hutch glove? And when did they go under, and why?
