Funny...I just saw that one myself. I found a Jimmie Foxx 1b mitt this morning and was looking it up on ebay to see if there were others. I figured that fielders glove was probably a 'Advisory Staff' type like Spalding used to put out.

There was another one of these Rawlings Jimmie Foxx gloves on eBay a while back - that one was right handed. I think they are legit.

I think the conjecture is correct. I've heard of these before and since Rawlings was involved with Spalding and the Ruth Advisory Staff gloves, this could have been a similar attempt by Rawlings to make a few glove bearing the sig of the old slugger Foxx. Jimmy worked at a Florida Sporting Goods Company about this time (I have a photo of him holding up a Roger Maris glove box) and Rawlings may have contacted him about putting out some gloves with his name in them.
