Not a photo exactly but here's a 1939 Wheaties box panel (no. 3 from a series of 8 historical baseball souvenirs) depicting the first baseball glove worn by a player named Doug Allison in 1869. Spoiler alert: The crowd wasn't impressed.
"It was flesh colored so that it would attract as little attention as possible. It also had holes in the back for ventilation. When the crowd saw it, they jeered and booed!"
The glove above predates the 1878 Butts patent below. Ventilation holes are nowhere to be seen on this patent though.
