Thanks Mike. Rob and I were actually at Jack n' the Box enjoying their great food (plug) and discussing captions and gloves among other things. I told him I wanted to do the whole "El Barto"concept, but I wasn't sure how to incorporate it. He suggested that I should include one with him, so it's a combination of our brilliance (Insert any synonym or antonym as you feel fit  ). Your photo was great and inspired me to get creative.

Keeping the art vibe.

Hmmm, I wish mom would get me some dang G.I. Joes!

Nice retort ... takes me back to my skateboarder days, but that one feels like a win/win happy-ending movie, PG13.

Re: Captions #15-19 Buck 'n Cyrus (continued)

Postby Mike**Mize » September 24th, 2010, 7:51 pm

 Try as they might; try as they may, Buck and Cyrus could not actually meld into the wonderful ALL-STAR HEROES Game. They had to remain content just on the edge, on the outskirts of the game. On the field of play, mind you, but there, and then somehow, not quite there at all.
"Not soo fast," complained Cyrus, with a slight pout.
"Aw shucks, Come On Little C.,"replied Buck with the sincerity of a rattlesnake,"I'm only six feet away from ya, and I'm twirlin' underhand!"
"Oh, all right; Let 'er rip," declared Cyrus, "But watch yer head. I may be plannin' a comebacker !"

I don't know, Cyrus, looks like tryouts may be a little tougher this year.

Monet in his later years was less abstract.

Player's union rule 247.D clearly states that we get a 15 minute break after every two innings.

You all look like individuals out there!

No Doubt, collage is an inexact artform. It has been fun suspending disbelief for a while.
Buck never forgot his moment in the sun; in the same frame as Mr Rizzuto. Same with Cyrus, being there with the Ump and Pistol Pete !
:D

OOPS, Sorry. I just realized you're on to the next one.

OK,OK, I couldn't help myself. Don't worry I'm not going to hog the whole thread.......

Lefty had counted on getting the PEACH promo shoot so much; It was as good as a done deal. Then he found out he didn't get the gig.
Son, you've gotta hit better than .230 if your going to be in a set-up like this the folks from Peach told him. Go back to work. Extra BP, an' maybe you'll get into the Spalding shoot when they come through next spring.

Lefty had had it. Distraught, he hurled himself right off the wall and onto the playing field.

Don't even think about that at all, Mike, when you are on a roll you have to ride it out. Remember, as Crash Davis once said, "Never mess with a streak." It's been good to get more participation. By the way, just because we have moved on to a new caption doesn't mean that previous ones in this thread are closed out (they never close). Greg, where are you?
