Yale brand Catcher's Mask

I picked up a large lot of gloves, included was an old Yale brand catcher's mask that has what appears to be some sort of a sun visor built in to the to the mask, attached between the pad and the mask at the top.

Can anyone tell me anything about this or where I could find out more info about it?

Yale was a lower to mid tier glove maker that made gloves for kids and amateurs. They probably made higher quality stuff as well, but it doesn't show up often. I would suspect that the mask is the same mid tier quality, though it looks very nice. Very likely to be make by some other company. The visor is cool. I would guess it was made sometime around the 1920's or so. As for value, maybe $50-75 to a Yale University collector.

Is the Yale brand associated with Yale university?

No university connnection, but I think they were made in CT. I've only had two over the years, both pretty low end, and both sold to Yale alums. After a quick run through JD's site, I think I was mistaken about any of the Yale gloves being above mid level.

Yes, they were made in New Haven, CT but not connection to the university - probably just using the name to make some money.
