Rawlings catalogs, as well as others, were lacking in showing the backsides of the gloves. You might get a clue from the back of the XPG6 Bobby Tolan gloves to see if wingtips were
on his gloves. Mantle's last XPG6 glove was in 1972, Tolan in 1973 and 1974. Stargell in 1975 and '76. I will try to find out though.

I went through my Rawlings catalogs from late 1960s to mid 1970s and have found (didn't see 1973 catalog) that the Mantle XPG6s had the streamlined and not wingtip backs through 1972. The Bobby Tolan XPG6 did not have wingtip shown in the 1974 and 1975 catalogs. The 1976 Willie Stargell XPG6 did show a wingtip back.
Hope this helps.

Our catalog source book is missing 4 or 5 catalog years between 1950 and 1980 . So, in most instances I'm missing having originals but photocopies of the catalogs.
I don't think Rawlings started including back shots of the gloves until the late 1960s or early 70s. Nocona did the same thing. Without looking I bet Wilson, MacGregor and Spalding did the same.
