Spalding 42-3421

I have a Spalding 42-3421 glove, Carl Yastrzemski, Triple Crown Model. I had a couple of questions.

First, does anyone know anything about this glove, such as what year it was made, whether it was popular at the time, etc.?

Second, I was wondering if there are places that do work restoration work? This glove was my father's. He passed away 30+ years ago, when I was very young, and it was one of the things I always kept of his. If I could get it restored, I would like to do that.

About the glove, it is in pretty good condition, but would probably need to have new laces, etc. The parts that led me to wonder if they would be able to do a good restoration are:

1. Knowing nothing, and being a dumb little kid, I used some dabs of rubbery glue on a couple of laces, when I could not keep them to stay tied. However, I think that could be peeled off, and then it might be okay if the laces were replaced.

2. There is a white patch/emblem? on the back of the glove. It has kind of disintegrated after all these years. At one point, it must have come loose, and I must have tried to do some glue on that. I'm not sure if that could sraped out, the emblem and the glue, sanded or something.

Do you think someone who restores gloves could handle that kind of restoration? Or do you think I botched things too much with my glue escapades, when I was a kid? If anyone wants to see pics of the glove, I could try to take those and e-mail them to you and get your thoughts.

Thanks for any advice.

Your glove was made in 1971 and sold new for $13.20...Info from 2007 VINTAGE BASEBALL GLOVE CATALOG SOURCE BOOK... I think it would be better to keep your glove as is and try to find another like it on ebay or on this forum....
