New pickups

Postby Rickybulldog » November 28th, 2008, 1:41 pm

Yes, I know I thought I was out, but just like The Godfather line, they pull me back in. Had to share these recent pickups. Picked up 2 Buckle back full webs: A JC Higgins and a possible Stall & Dean. The Higgins was by far a diamond in the rough. Cleaned up to a nice white suede. The inner liner is super soft despite the slight rip from the seller (no worries). Lastly, I picked up a Very Rare endorsed Monte Irvin glove. This glove is in super condition and contains most of the black glove's original silver stamping. Hard to find post war HOFer. I'll try to get pics up soon. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.

Cheers..............................................................................RBD

Thanks Dave.

The funny thing is that I had to throw in your baseball glove book in order to close the deal on the Monte Irvin trade. Haha! So, I'll need to get another one if you have one. :o

BTW, thanks Brett for getting the pics up.

Ricky, That is funny. Cool Irvin glove and in nice shape too. You know my heart is with those oldie gloves though.

I have my book on ebay right now, but if you want one I will fix you up with it and give you 2 dollars off the ebay total cost price, as a fellow glover discount. I am running a bit low on those books and not sure when I am going to ask the printer to make me more. I had some books selling at the HOF Pete Rose Museum in Cinn, OH this past summer and some at the HOF St. Louis Cardinals museum as well. The National Pastime store in Cooperstown, NY has sold a few of them too, so that is cool. I will likely try have some for next season so I may ask the printer to run off some more. But for now I have probably less than 15 books remaining. LOL

Great Higgins Glove. It is a real looker.

Ricky,

Forgot, just drop me an email at cunninghamd1707@yahoo.com should you want to pick up another glove book. It is a bummer that your website is no longer up. Rob's is not there either. Ugh.

Catch you later.

Wow! I must say you did a super job on the Higgins. I could swear that was a black glove. Oh, BTW I thought you were done with gloves for now. I guess it only lasted one minute. Just messin' with you buddy!
