This guy has been trying to sell this glove for the last several months on Ebay with no luck. Anyone have any idea what he expects? Is he in touch with the real world?

I would have bought it, but refuse to pay an obscene $40 shipping
- A baseball glove is a beginning and an ending: a boy's first sure step towards manhood; a man's final, lingering hold on youth; it is promise...and memory.

discussed before

I think we've had a discussion on this glove before. I was surprised MEARS
made any comment on it much less issued a letter. The story was that Eddie Joost invited a serviceman to visit with Mickey in Philadelphia locker room and Mickey gave him this glove. There is little to the story except the story and never realized that Joost and Mantle were close , etc. and that his glove didn't exactly fit the time period.
So caveat emtor. This is a MEARS bungle as far as I'm concerned somewhat legitimizing this. I let them know.
