Maybe Doc can give us more info on these gloves. They do look different which is a nice change from the mostly same styles we see from Rawlings over the past few years. Maybe Rawlings could start producing these here in HOH or PP leather.

shigeko at us-sports4world.com got back to me after a few q,s , he mentioned they are made by asics.co.jb/baseball/ for the japanese market to compete with the other gloves there ,hence the different patterns and leathers used , just by the picture of the black japan primo i would def. be more inclined to spend 3-400.00 on that glove considering the wide open design ,lighter construction and leather used vs. the us version ,with other pics i have seen of the higher end raw japan gloves the lighter color gloves look like more dry -less oil-injected leathers used wich i prefer .

Remember first that Rawlings has NO input on what makes or sells in Japan. They design and have them made their selfs. I haven't made them a pattern since 1989 ( XPG-2, 1000 pattern) Their quality is excelent, they are designed 99.9 % for Japan baseball hence the narrow pockets which explains other Japanese companies slow start in USA softball market which in quanity probably out numbers baseball,(no hand wringing by the forum here) When early imports arrived here they would be longer AKA 14" but very narrow baseball pockets. Softball just didn't happen over there. But alas they have figured it out I fear. There are some advantage to being almost 64 It won't eliminate my Job. But I saw it coming years ago. My son was working with me for about 5 years but I made him go to night school so now he is ready to be a teacher. ( you can't import babys and students) well enough of the ole rambing inventory week here gotta get too work

http://www.asics.co.jp/baseball/order/g ... index.html

This is their glove simulator if you want to mess around with it. They've got a lot more color choices, pro models, triple welting and HOH is an option so it's not just "Pro Primo" and the other types of leather they have on the majority of stock models.

NOTE: The load time on this page might be ridiculously slow.

On the same site, there's this page http://www.asics.co.jp/baseball/products/index_C.html
which shows their item lineup. I wish the US would do this, meaning offer the classic all-tan or all-black gloves and cut down on the multi-colored camel/black and oxblood.
