I seen 2 types of lanolin (hrdrous & anhydrous). Does it matter which one is used .

They are both essentially the same thing. With the hydrous formula you are getting an emulsified (water added) lanolin. Anhydrous is more pure, but hydrous is more common. Both work well. Anhydrous is more commonly used as an ingredient in a larger recipe, like soap for instance.

I've used both and would recommend the hydrous lanolin. Hydrous lanolin seems to work into the leather better than the anhydrous.
