What to do with 30 year old catcher mitt?

I've got an old catcher's mitt from the middle 1970's. It is also kind of stiff, nothing much was ever done with it, playing, cleaning, conditioning. I'd like to make it look as good as possible, soften it up, give it some shape. What do you recommend? I think the strings on it are fine. What is the best way to clean it? Condition it? (method and products) Sorry for the basic nature of the question. I know that others here are very experienced but I've never really done much with gloves, so I wasn't sure the best way to proceed. Thanks very much.

I'd just brush it off and use Lexol conditioner on it. If it's really dirty, brush it off, wipe it down with a wet cloth, then use saddle soap to clean it. Let it dry overnight, then finish with another light coat of Lexol or vaseline and you're good to go.

Only 30 years old? That's considered practically new around here!
