The story goes like this. My great uncle's brother was Johnny Vander Meer. I am absolutely new to glove collecting- in fact, I am not entirely certain I want to collect any vintage gloves beyond this one. However, I think it would a great heirloom to pass down. I am not looking to profit or horde- but collect a unique piece of "family" history.

I am looking for a vintage 1930s Johnny Vander Meer Endorsed GoldSmith Glove- Can be with or without picture box.

Condition matters, but I am interested no matter what.

Folks here are familiary, but If you need a refresher, look here: http://www.legendaryauctions.com/1930s_ ... 24055.aspx

I will pretty much always be on the look out for this glove. PM me if you have one! Or, email at ben@benschaaf.com. Or, text 616-292-3191

Thanks!!

I have this D&M VanderMeer endorsed glove from the late 1930s that he autographed for me around 1995. I could sell it. If interested, email me at swalt1234@aol.com.

This would be question best answered by the true collector like yourself, how many different gloves were endorsed by Johnny? Until now I only had seen pictures of a GS.

To Godsdog, Mark at swalt1234 only collects the very best gloves. To be offered a personally autographed glove of your relative and an endorsed model to boot, that is too good to pass up in my opinion.

There are a few different Goldsmith models - VDM, JDM, and and AG65.

I consider myself very fortunate to receive the offer. Him and I have exchanged some emails already :) Thanks.

Yes, at least one D&M - model DG20. Makes sense because Goldsmith purchased the D&M company in the late 1930's and probably was using the same endorsements on both lines.
