A2000 XLO

Hello

As a newbie, I fear the image I'm trying to post may not work--forgive me if not, and please tell me what I'm doing wrong if you spot it!

I have an A2000 XLO with the round black W label reading Korea beneath the W. Other salient points from the lettering on the glove are: Professional Model, Grip-Tite Pocket, Fastback model, Holdster, Pro-Back.

Can anyone tell me anything about this glove, including date and quality relative to Japan and USA-made A2000s?

Most important, I had associated the Holdster with Rawlings gloves--a trademark of theirs. Could this be a "hybrid" piracy of the sort referred to in a new topic earlier today?

Thanks

I think this glove would be the type of glove that I mentioned in the Counterfeit A2000 topic...

I may be wrong...but I think this is an example of a bootleg Wilson A2000, and not a glove made by Wilson.

counterfit?

Can you tell me why specifically you say that one is a counterfeit? (I'll admit the stamping looks clunky)

Moreover, can anyone address the issue of a Wilson having the "Holdster" feature"?

eqaz,

I believe it is counterfeit because:

- the pattern is all wrong and not consistent with a "real" Wilson A2000
- the glove was made in Korea (maybe)
- the quality of the construction looks really poor
- etc

The glove that Studboy linked to is a great example of this, as is this one:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=22014105593

I may be wrong, but I think that a lot of the "A2000" gloves floating around out there really aren't Wilson A2000's!

... and ...

it has the word "Fastback" in Rawlings print just above the finger slot, as seen in the second picture.

Hmmm...

The glove that I had to link to on eBay is no longer listed???

Maybe the seller got wind of the fact that the glove was a bogus A2000 and pulled it...one can only hope!

Last month I bought a 1b A2802 marked 'Korea'. When it arrived it was clear that the quality of leather and general construction didn't match other high end Wilsons. The glove also smelled of mold.

I guess win some lose some with ebay purchases.

I have a 70's a2000xlo and I always assumed the o in xlo meant open web because I have seen the web in these pictures with xlc. Don't know if I'm on the right track or not. By the way, I'm new to this site and it is absolutely fantastic!
