Does anyone know how many different variations of the SP (webs available) were produced?

SPT - single post

Also which pro ball players used them?

I know a little about the SP gloves. The SPT and SPB are the only model numbers I've ever heard of in the "SP" series. As far as which pro players used them, I can tell you Ryne Sandberg used an SPB.

SPT users: Greg Gagne, Jay Bell, Scott Leius, Cesar Izturisand Mickey Morandini are the only ones that I know that used the SPT. They are truly an awesome glove and are very, very had to come by.

Did those players use the 11" or 12" version?

Did you mean both spt and spb?

Most pro players used 12 inch SPT's. SPB are hard to find, but possible. The SPT is nearly impossible to find. I've only seen one on E-bay in the last 7 years.

Were these gloves available to the public or only available to the pros?

Also, when were these gloves produced?

why weren't more produced?

Does anyone have a picture they can post of a SPB/SAP or the
PRO-9XBC? I just want to see the diferrence. Also, were these glove designed for 2nd basemen?

The 12" size is kind of big for MIF. I can see using the 11" for 2nd base. For third base, players typically use 11.75" with a "deep" pocket - so a 12" shallow pocket doesn't seem ideal. I guess the 12" version is for SS who like a larger glove...

BTW, I saw a SPT glove on Ebay almost a year ago and probably should of bid on it... I wasn't crazy about the condition though. Went for around $230-240 if I remember correctly.

I think Ryne Sandberg used a PRO-SPB for some of his career.

I had an inside and out horween PRO-SPBB that I bought not knowing what it was a year or two ago. I rebayed it. It was before I know about his awesome Vintage/Modern glove forum. I've got pics I can post when I get home after hockey tonight.

It had a really shallow pocket. I'm a deep pocket guy.
