Could be Mariano Rivera. It's a closed web and he used Rawlings before Nike.

Here's a link to the ebay auction from which I purchased it.

I should be getting it tomorrow or saturday so I can take additional pics. MVALZ, what's funny is I think I will use it for softball. When I was about 19 and first started playing softball all I had was an A2000 11 1/4" which is more the size of a true 11" . Ever since even when I put on a 12" glove and try to play infield to me it feels like a 14.5" glove, it's weird.

This was just a general release which rawlings discontinued about 2 years ago.

have you used a solid one piece web before?
I got into them a few years back, I have two heart of the hides, 1 pro preferred, and 1 ssk, but mine are all 11"
I do love that web.

I have never had the chance to use/ own one before. Seems like they'd be great for getting the ball out really quick, and make transfers from glove to hand easier.

I was right about Mariano. Rawlings listed in catalogs that this was the glove of Mariano Rivera, as well as Rafael Furcal and Louis Sojo. I also found one site that said it was the glove used by Joe Cede and Enrique Wilson, but I think that had it mixed up because they were the only ones that had this.

When Rivera used a Rawlings, he used a PRO209SC. His was black, while mine is a dark brown.
I think that MR model is someone else's. Maybe the good doctor can enlighten us?
Some more info here:
http://web.archive.org/web/20010814093558/rawlings.com/Products/Baseball/index.asp?nav=Baseball&subnav=none
Once you get to that site, click on "Gloves", then PRO209SC.
.... Or here's a direct link:

Mariano entered the minors as an infielder...probably why he stuck with that smaller pattern. He did use a glove similar to the 209, but in black for a few years before switching to Nike.

Well boys. It showed up at my door about an hour ago. I really like it. It has a great feel to it, and should work well for me at SS / 2nd base. It has 2 small gold circles on the pinky finger below where it says gold glove series.
