Has anyone seen the Japanese Rawlings gloves for 2009?

Those gloves are sick. I would love the red one.
I think it would look even better with black lacing.

I don't like them myself. They look cheap and too flashy. The bottom one is the only one that looks ok to me.

the question is can anyone take some time out of their month, fly to Japan, get these gloves for all of the members, and then sell them at a discounted rate?

The black pro primo is nice but I would want it in 11.5" mod trap... or even better - single post

The black one would be really nice with the classic Rawlings wrist lable like the first one. Or just without the blue shadow.

Hi guys,

I lived in Japan for two years and am probably moving back next year. The Rawlings selection over there was always different-looking from what you guys got to see here. They had different color schemes as I remember, some with sort of a brick-red color, some with a honey-yellowish color, and some with a flat black color. The leather was decent, but it was not top quality in my opinion. The leather almost had a nubuck feel. A lot of the gloves there were flashier, too.

In Japan, at least around Tokyo, adult baseball is almost always played with a smaller dimpled hard rubber ball. They call it Nanshiki. I can't remember that well, but I think that some of the different Rawlings models which I saw were for Nanshiki players. I remember Mizuno having models for these leagues.

And when I move back to Japan, you can all hit me with PayPal, and your Japanese Rawlings will be on their way to your doorsteps. How's that for service?

Also, I notice only one logo on the back side of the gloves. There is a rule in Japan that the high school baseball players playing in the nationally televised tournaments are only allowed to use gloves with only one visible logo on them. This rule is to protect the kids from having the sporting goods companies exploit them by using them as advertising billboards. I wonder if this has anything to do with these gloves. I don't know--I'm just pondering.

I'll qualify all of this by saying that I'm no Rawlings expert by any means--I guess I'm just thinking out loud before bed. And I hate to admit this, but I'm really digging that red one. I can't believe it.

Type klucksports.jp into google then look just to the right of the first website. It will say "translate this page" in brackets. I can't get the order pages to translate which would make it difficult unless you know a Japanese person.

This site has a great collection of USA HOHs, but it's one person, not a company so ordering would be a problem. It's still worth checking out as he's got a huge collection. www.kakikaki-world.com/glove.html

www.rookiesports.co.jp click on the option under menu on the left, then glove mitt. Remember to do this through google so you can read most of it. They do orders through email so you can try sending them something in English and see if they respond. This looks like the most promising option right now.

I doubt they're rubber, but it does say that on most of the sites. There's also sometimes an option between rubber and stiff. The translator's probably thrown off by things that don't translate exactly. I haven't tried using other translator programs, but that could tell us what it really is.
