Is this an A2000? What is RM90? My son wants a blue glove for fall ball, but I'm not sure about this glove. Opinions appreciated...

hmmm ... my guess is that is a bona fide Wilson. It has the Wilson shaped palm and fingers, the circle patch is consistent with the circle patch placement in the "modern" era of the A2000 web. Wilson made much of their connection with Major League Baseball back in the day, and that is not the first MLB patch I have seen on a Wilson. The web looks authentic.

I don't have any idea what the RM 90 designation stands for ... Rick Monday?? Wasn't he a Cub and might he not have used a blue glove?? :?

Need a blue glove for fall ball? Take a look at the new (2008) Worth Ranger on Ebay. I bought a 2007 tan model of the catcher's mitt and was pleasantly surprised with the quality for the price. If he likes the blue it could do!

Hey, hey, hey now take it easy. The man said "opinions appreciated" but I do not think he expected a response like that. A little decorum on the forum please.

Where's a site administrator when you need one?!

sorry....was just trying some "tough dad" humor/stik....admittedly maybe reads too harsh. Was just joking....but I do think buying an expensive blue glove is a bad idea.

Wow, I thought this forum was about baseball gloves. I was asking for opinions on this particular A2000 not your opinions on my parenting or my 11 year old sons desire for a blue glove. I wonder how many of the players in the MLB are considered "turds" for using gloves other than tan or black? Do you think Jimmy Rollins in a "pile of turds" for using a glove that is red, white and blue? After reading these comments and the ones from the guy attacking the mod regarding the crescent glove, I'm not sure that this is the place for me...

Ok, let's take a breather here. This is along the same lines as the other threads that have gotten out of hand. Everyone is welcome to state their opinions but let's do it in a productive and responsible manner. Joking or not, posts need to be responsible and follow forum rules. Thanks.

When it comes to gloves, just like anything else, people have different likes and dislikes. Although you are welcome to say you don't like blue gloves, I believe the purpose of the original post was to gather information for a glove his son was interested in using.

pwm317,
I have been a forum member for a couple of years now on and off. Please don't let one less than positive experience change your mind about the rest of the forum members. The people here are for the most part friendly, informed, helpful and very cooperative. They are more than willing to make informed suggestions and comments because of their knowledge and experience and their willingness to share same with others that have the same interest. Don't let the comments and attitudes of one or two people persuade you into thinking that the rest of us are the same way. I can tell you from personal experience that this kind of response is the exception rather than the rule.

Very best regards, br

Back on topic.....

I have personally serviced a Blue Dual Hinge Web A2000, with an MLB patch, and can certify that these are legitimate offerings from Wilson. The glove checked out as a legit product both inside and out. My guess was it was from the early 90's.

So if you would like to know if Wilson made a glove like this, or a series like this, they sure did.

As for opinions on blue gloves....

They are easy to spot on a bench
They catch balls just as easily

You probably wouldn't go wrong....just make sure the price is not too high....I could not gather what you were being asked, but I would assume that you were looking at spending less than $100.

As for the rude comments.....let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

To pwm317 & other forum members who were offended. I am sorry. Just a joke attempt gone wrong. My bad.
