I haven't had a chance to play with one of these TPX PRO Flare gloves. They seem to have look pretty well built and have pretty nice leather. Just curious if anyone has used one and how they liked it. I play a lot of middle infield for softball and kinda shade the pinky/thumb stalls outwards similar to the flare gloves.

Love the leather not so much the shape. Would rather flare the fingers myself if I chose to do so.

My suggestion would be to try shaping your gamer that way and see how it goes....it you like it, you already know that the workmanship is good, so I would go for it.

For 12" softball, I have shaped one of my 12" modified trap gloves just like that, and it has worked well. But, by the same token, I have shaped an A2000 XLO 12" into a perfect bowl, with thumbs and pinkies that turn in.

Either one works well...balls occassionally leak out of the modified trap, and balls occassionally are kept from entering the bowl shape of the A2000.

Each style has possible drawbacks and benefits....experiment and see which idea fits your game best.

Last comment....I don't know this for sure, but I would be willing to wager that a Pro Flar can be taken apart aqnd re-shaped without too much trouble. Probably just a pre-shaped plastic shank that could be melted over a stove and re-shaped for a custom feel.

I actually like the flares...there are stiff when you get them though but I really like them.....

I play a lot of SS, so I had been thinking about getting the 11 3/4 " Flare glove. All I had my first 4 years of softball was a 12.5" A2000 which was a fastback, outfield glove, and a A2000 11 1/4" glove that looks closer to 11" . Even though I haven't used it as my gamer in a long time any glove above 11 3/4" feels big to me when I'm playing softball.

That is the one I used to have...I absolutley loved it.....I play baseball though but I think it will work for you...

I recently started flaring the thumb and pinky out on my newer infield gloves. I like the groove curving out the thumb gives you when you put the glove on your hand.

in regards to the pro flares i've tried numerous models of these on imo the webs are too stiff. (especially the I webs) however i do really like the leather on these.
