I was just curious to know what everyone's favorite Rawlings webs were and why. My personal favorite is the Single Post. I feel it keeps the shape of an infield glove the best wile maintaining stiff fingers and a very flat pocket. I am curious to know why Rawlings offers so few (yes I know there are 2 for 2009) models with this web that I know is very popular, Bob, do you know?

Im suspecting a bunch of people are going to say the Dual Hinge, but really not many people have had the chance to use a Rawlings true DH (not that weird one found in the 09 PP and 08 Pull Up model).

I'm new to the glove world as I always used my older brothers' glove. I am now looking to buy my first own glove and feel like a kid in a candystore.

I definitly prefer the single post gloves and was also wondering why there aren't more of these models available.

Without a doubt, a true Trap-eze web is my favorite. I have a Pro-T that just encloses the ball perfectly. Any ball that comes near that glove gets caught and stays caught. And it looks cool. Oddly enough, the single post is my least favorite. It's an effective design, but I just don't like the way it looks.

I think webs are like small gloves its a cycle thing. I have mentioned this to the powers in our company and they are all excited about a ( idea, single post heheheh) so I think you will see more of them in the future and then kids will be buying them creating the new hot feature. Believe me when I say that I have been here for ever and there are NO new patterns or web. Anything you see out there I can probably trace to my files which go back to 1889 Good case is Stan the mans 12 tc glove from 1958 which died for years, when ozzie brought it back it become # 1 again single post died in the late 80's. Alot of it depends on what a company is willing to pay a super star to wear which if he is good enough will create a new fad Note Roger Clemens 29 dollar mesh back from Spalding a few years ago. Now you see the full leather glove is to heavy for a pro. There you have it Gloves 104 (note the opinons are mine and not necessarly the management or then anyones)

I'm a trapeze guy as well but the web that intrigues me the most is the Robin Ventura hinged single post that Crede and A-Rod use. I first saw the glove at the Hall of Fame a few years back after Chicago won the WS. It was Crede's glove that was on display. Very cool and unique. Don Morton's has a Robin Ventura model for sale but it doesn't have the hinged single post. I would buy it if it did.

I like the double H in my outfield glove, and the mod I for infield. I also have a mod trap I play catch with. I have used the trap web in the past but just don't like the way it secures the ball. The mod I seems to keep my glove open and flat for groundballs.

I'm a standard issue basket web guy myself. If you break in the glove the right way, the pocket is always the way you want it. You can get your hand in and out of the glove with a basket web pretty quickly too. They're a bear to break in though...

The Pro H web has been my choice for infield gloves because it's pretty versatile. That has more to do with the glove size, but I like to carry one glove to play 2B, SS, and 3B. So a Pro H web in a 12 inch works for that. For you second basemen gasping at the thought of a 12 inch glove, I usually trap the ball between my throwing hand and the backside of my glove fingers when turning two. The ball never sees the pocket if I'm taking a throw from the left side, touching the bag at second, and throwing to first.

To me, the basket web was and is the most versatile, utilitarian web. Hence, the quadrillion of them that Rawlings, et. al., made over the years and continues to make. Like offsideswing said, when broken in correctly, the basket web is hard to beat.

Having said that, I love the looks and catch factor of my GGP200-4 modified trap. That glove catches the ball and it stays caught!

Every single post web or H-web glove I have owned or played with has been difficult to break in correctly. The horizontal bars seem to keep the web open (which explains why a lot of infield guys like it, I guess). And so the catch factor is low, because the ball still moves in the pocket.

Just my two cents' worth!

Well, my son is the one playing these days ( HS/Travel) and he prefers single post, 11.5" for MIF and 3rd base... We have some 11.75" gloves for third but they're not broken in...

Brotherray- I was up at cooperstown last summer and they have that Crede glove in the MLB locker room part. I even have a pic of it. That is one of my favorite webs too- Someone just had an old Robin Ventura LS gamer on Ebay with that same web.

I can't believe I missed that auction on the Ventura glove. Ventura had that model in tan, brown, and black. I believe A-Rod's version may be slightly larger. That's probably why he now has it made with the nylon mesh back. I'd like to know the history of the glove/web. Maybe Bob can shed some light on this one of a kind masterpiece. Thanks HR King!

The single post Rawlings web like that on the PRO-SPT are my favorite. They look cool and a few years ago they were only issued to pros. I have three Made in U.S.A. SPT's and would never get rid of them. They are super rare and in my opinion the best model glove Rawlings made!

I love the basket on my Pro 7 and the trapeze on my Pro T. But I have to say the what I consider the mostest is the Dual Hinge on the A2000.
