I'm no expert but why would a pro-issue glove have retail tags on it? This glove doesn't appear any differen't than one of the gloves you can purchase from the link you provided at ballgloves.com or any other retailer.

I'd be very suspicious of this seller's claims but I wouldn't hesitate to bid in case you can get it cheaper than the ballgloves.com price.

This model is not a rare glove, you can get them from Don Morton's for $159.99, but you may be able to get it cheaper from this ebay sale if you want one. I bought one from Morton's this year but I will bid on this one up to a certain price. Ralph

Ah yes, the old "buddy of mine knows a rep" allocation. docglov will probably have more insight on this from a baseball perspective, but in a hockey dressing room, reps would drop off some 'bone stock' equipment for guys to try in practice. If you liked something, you would tell either the rep or your equipment guy and the pro dept when then spec stuff out for you. Skates, sticks, gloves.

That may be how this seller got this glove from a "locker room" and is sizzling it to sound like it came right out of AROD's stall. Even though it's a ho-hum stocker.

I was just about to post about this glove, haha. Do people really think we're gonna believe that a glove with hang tags is really a pro issue or pro stock? Tisk Tisk...

Hang tags! are you kidding. I'll bet its a Morton also we don't even have any hang tags in our plant. oh yes you won't see that black sewn on label either

I will say that model glove is a great one though, my favorite Rawlings model by far! I bought my version of this glove when they first issued it as the Cal Ripken and A-Rod model back in the mid to late 90's. Mine came with a leather hang tag with Ripken and A-rods signature stamped into the hang tag(Which I still have) and mine dosent have the black Gold Glove patch on it either, which is real nice. I love that glove. I added a couple applications of Rawlings gloveolium to make the color a little richer and since then have just been using mink oil. Looks great and plays even better. I need to have the web relaced, because the lacing at my post joint just gave out on one hard shot liner while playing short.
