Red Sox Off Season Woes Continue

What the heck. First Tito is gone, then Theo. And now the biggest depature of all - Heidi Watney (see attached picture)! How will all of us Sox fans cope with this loss. New GM Cherrington should place a call to Allison Brie since NBC apparently isn't going to be bringing Community back. That would be a the second best off season news (Lackey having TJ surgery being no. 1).

What do you mean Community got canceled? That sucks. I second the motion for Alison Brie. She's also on Mad Men.

We'll go out of way to make her feel at home in Southern Cal (which based on her appearance seemed inevitable). You can refer to this as continued John Lackey karma for signing him away from the Angels and his comments soon thereafter. Her move could get put on hold, though, as her new Laker gig may be on an extended leave. Here's the story :

I'm thinking of adding a restraining order to the paperwork for my emotional divorce from the Red Sox. This relationship is getting worse by the day. What's next? Fenway Park is going peanut free? I'd joke about no beer but there's too much money in it for that to go away.

I don't know, William. If the Sox go so far as to ban beer and fried chicken in the club house, they just might carry it through the whole park!

In that case, they'll have to rethink the Bud Deck in right field. I'd be cool with bringing back the Moxie sign, but it would probably be turned into the Whole Foods Pavilion with $26 free range chicken skewers. Wade Boggs can sit up there and.... never mind, there's no beer, scrap it.

I'm probably the only person who would support the beer ban - would make the game much easier to watch. No annoying drunk fans nearby getting up in the middle of every inning to go get another beer. No stupid fans trying to start the wave. Sounds like an improvement to me! 8)

News update: apparently somebody named Sveum turned down the chowder's manager gig to take the Cubs one. Maybe publicly bad-mouthing the previous guy who only had two world series rings there isn't the best strategy when needing to eventually pursue a new guy.

For the record, I have a three inning bladder and I've never done the wave.

Rob, shameful what was said about our man, Tito. I agree with you 100%. You'd have to be a fool to take the job at this point, but they'll find one. Most likely a Muppet. The fans want Animal, but we'll probably get Beaker for the short term. :D

I would be OK without beer at the park; they don't serve my brand and they want too much for what they do serve.

As far as a muppet running the club, they will probably get Scooter since his uncle owns the theater/ballpark.

Maybe they'll sign Lew Zealand - he's got a pretty good arm and I know he's partial to fish rather than chicken.

[Kermit]
Ladies and Gentlemen, Its The Muppet Show!

[Muppets]
Its time to play the music
Its time to light the lights
Its time to meet the muppets on the Muppet Show tonight.

Its time put on makeup
Its time to dress up right
Its time to raise the curtain on the Muppet Show tonight

[Old Men...(clearly Red Sox fans)]
Why do we always come here?
I guess we'll never know
Its like a kind of torture
To have to watch the show

[Muppets]
But now its getting started
Why don't you get things started?
Its time to get things started
On the most sensantional
Inspirational
Celebrational
Muppet-ational
This is what we call The Muppet Show!

Much better than Sweet Caroline.

This would totally work on the big new screens added this year:

I'm all for family sections, but let's just say that from a Fenway tourist perspective I am expecting to be able to buy an expensive beer and would prefer a mininum number of muppet references while in attendance. Same with Wrigley!
