Did anyone see Moneyball this weekend? I was wondering what the reveiws are.

Going tonight. Taking a bunch of my boy's friend's and teammates. The book was great.

The critics seemed to like it and so do the moviegoers. I'm not a big Brad Pitt fan but I'll see it when it's on video. I loved the book.

I just watched the Bob Costas interview with Billy Beane, Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, and the author of the book. It was really entertaining and the movie sounds like it should be too. Odds are slim to none that there will ever be a movie about my life, but I guess I'd let Brad Pitt play the lead.

Saw it tonight and enjoyed it although I had to agree with my buddy that it moved slowly at times. Lots of real and scripted baseball game action. My buddy wasn't impressed, but interestingly we both really liked the book.

Loved it. As an Economics guy, I'm fascinated by all the math and statistics of baseball. Loved the unconventional way Billy Beane thinked. Thought the story was great, the movie well done, liked Brad Pitt in the role and chuckled a bunch. I didn't think it was slow at times but it was a long movie at just over two hours. I might have felt that. I dug it.

Beane was the first to take more of a statistical look and effectiveness, in light of his scouts' reports. He was right about many things, wrong about a few more as time has proven. But the book goes far beyond that and the "sound bite" line from the book is after meeting with his scouts and discussing a particular player's abilities, the scout said something like, "too much body fat and wrong type body." Beane replied, "you mean like Babe Ruth?" Where are you Lance Berkman?
Pitt was a good choice for the B. B. character.

Just saw the movie and thought it was really entertaining. Brad Pitt deserves a lot of credit for his engaging take on the Billy Beane character. Pitt was interviewed on Terry Gross' "Fresh Air" PBS show and had some interesting comments on how he played the role. Even though a lot of his scenes were of him sitting and talking, Pitt would keep some sort of other physical activity going. Jonah Hill and Phillip Hoffman were also very good. My newspaper had it as four stars.

I saw it last night. I really liked it. Favorite line, which was used a couple of times: "How can you not get romantic about baseball?"

This is almost a trademark of his. Watch the Oceans 11 films, he's ALWAYS eating!

I've seen "12 Monkeys" a few times and Pitt seems to emphasize his lines with hand gestures throughout the movie.
