Vintage Baseball Glove Forum

Experts help me on this one, Baseball or not???? I got this old cast aluminum mask & the reeded shin guards at a local estate auction maybe a year ago. I've never really seen another mask like it, so anyone know anything about it? Being from Nebraska we don't see much hockey stuff so I was thinking baseball. No markings on either the mask or shin guards.

It's a Stall & Dean catcher's mask form the 1920's, though the forehead on yours is smooshed down. The only other one I've ever seen was auctioned by Hunt in 2003 and it sold for $1250! Here's the link...

Neat mask. I'd definitely cast my vote in the baseball category. I wouldn't want to be wearing that if a chunk of vulcanized rubber was rocketing towards my head.

Looks like a Storm Trooper mask from Star Wars.

Scott, I hate to dispute you on this but Leonardo DeCaprio wore this in a movie. . . well. . . at least part of the time in the movie.
