DocGloves 'turn back the calender helmets
Posted: May 3rd, 2008, 3:58 pmDocGlove posted a while back that he had painted the A's helmets for an A's 'Turn Back the Clock' day. Well Sunday is the day. The SF Chronical mentioned,
"Fans attending Sunday's Turn Back the Clock day will get a lesson in baseball fashion. The A's will wear shite sleeveless jerseys with OAKLAND across the front, as the team did in 1968, the first year on the West Coast.
Other notable parts of the uniform: green stirrups with gold stripes, all-green caps with solely "A" not "A's" for the players and all-white caps for the manager/coaches THE ALL YELLOW HELMETS UNQUESTIONABLY WILL GET YOUR ATTENTION."
I'm the only baseball factoid geek in the crowd who knows that ol' docglove painted those helmets.
