A 1940's George Reach "Professional" model BOL sold for $80 on ebay. Glove is in nice shape inside and out. I like the black leather and wide wrist strap. Goerge Reach Co. made some nice gloves and mitts in the 40's.

A 1950's Hutch 3 finger "The Magnet" glove and box sold for $127 on ebay. Glove is unused and looks super. The box is a little tattered but at least both box and glove are stamped model 44.

A Rawlings "Stan Musial" model SM6 sold quickly for $80 on ebay. Glove is in good shape. Seems like a good deal. In a separate auction, the SM6 Rawlings box didn't make its reserve of $785.

A 1920's "Frank Ellerbe" glove of unknown mfg. sold for $82 on ebay. Flew under the radar till the end. Glove was touted as having a soft, smooth liner which meant Rob was going to be in the mix, especially with the added feature of a nice grommet web. Pretty early and obscure player endorsement. May be only one known. Nice glove

A 1962 Wilson "Ball Hawk Six" model 2121 sold for $75 on ebay. A little different take on the "Trapeze" style web. Wilson patented their version calling it the "Twin T- Webs"

A 1920-30's Schemlzer brand catchers mitt sold for $184 on ebay. Pretty ordinary Goldsmith mitt with a rare cloth patch. I've tried to resist buying gloves for the tag only.

An unused Wilson "Andy Pafko" model 2080 sold for $420 on ebay. Features the outward seams on the backs of the fingers. One of Wilson's best models in the early fifties.

A 1920's D&M "Hank Gowdy" model 704 sold for $360. One of D&M's top mitts with a rare endorser. Markings strong in the pocket, something not often found on D&M gloves/mitts due to their habit of light ink stamping. The mitt features the wrist, finger tip and thumb reinforcement. In some catalogs this model was listed as having the high grade "Wapiti Elk" leather. Might have given the mitt that bidding surge at the end. Nice looking mitt regardless.

The Pafko glove, for me, is a "show stopper," but I'm a sucker for black glove and that eye-popping stamping and contrast stitching. The curly lip thumb helps too.
The Gowdy mitt sparkles with character and the perts designed into it. I'd not thought of the habit of light stamping in a lot of the D&M gloves but generally true. And wonder why?
Gowdy, an enlistee in both major wars and an outstanding defensive catcher, had his endorsement on several major manufacturers' gloves.

Another 1920's D&M mitt sold on ebay. This one was a "Val Picinich" model 710 and sold for $315. This is a stitched "Double Palm" golden brown "Wapiti Elk" leather mitt in stellar condition. The markings on the front are super. This mitt also features the sewn thumb and finger guard. The model 710 was D&M's top mitt for many years.
