about those Bobby Tolan gloves. Best. Glove. Ever!!!
Used them throughout my baseball travels. Had 3 but gave a nice one to a friend's son who is moving up the ranks as a young ballplayer.
Just a great feel to them.

ALSO,
that Spalding catcher's mitt is a beauty. Pretty sure this version (which was produced for many years), probably is from near the end of it's run, around 1923-26

A KenWel zipper back base mitt sold for $1600 on ebay. Mitt is intact but in well used condition. Seller states this is a "Lou Gehrig" endorsed model although there was an unendorsed "Professional Model" in the mid 1930's. Markings on the front are obscured by creases in the leather. If it turns out this mitt has a legible endorsement then the buyer got a good deal.

A 1940's VIM "George Selkirk" model F650 sold for $99. A similar VIM model sold on ebay about a year and a half ago. This one has the earmarks of KenWel construction and shows the evolution of their designs from the first laced models in the 1920's. Interesting that the finger lacing now extends all the way to the pinky with a double row of grommets. The "Lou Finney" model of the same era only had a single grommet on the pinky with a double row on the other fingers. The laced back on this glove is pretty sharp looking as is the thumb seam reinforcement. This model also features the Spalding style diverted finger seams instead of the KenWel trademark "No Rip" back panel.
