A 1950's MacGregor "Willie Mays" model G105 sold for $199 on ebay. This is my favorite of the Mays gloves, an early Personal Model with the trademark "Spider Web". The glove was lightly used and is in beautiful condition.

A very rare 1930 Stall & Dean "Hack Wilson" glove sold for $1575 on ebay. Top quality in its day and still in pristine condition. The cursive endorsement is framed within a stylized block letter "Hack Wilson Model". Nice cloth patch

That's a strong price for the Hack Wilson. There have been a few Hack Wilson models available on eBay the past year but either Wilson or Spalding. Besides condition, I'm guessing the Stall & Dean was the biggest attractor.

A William Read & Sons full web glove sold for $615 on ebay. Has a lot of wear and tear and vintage repairs but still rare and from an early glove maker. Cloth patch is mostly intact and the quick release buckle and arrow head strap is pretty nice.

Interesting glove. I can't lay claim to having won it, but I'll take credit for bringing it all the way up to $2 shy of the winning price. I was pretty sure $613 would get it done. Oh well... back to the drawing board. :D

Maybe so, Jim. I didn't anticipate your bid at the end. I think we've been here a few times before. A Bill Terry mitt from a few years ago comes to mind. I really thought I was going to win this one for under $500. :D

A circa 1940 Rawlings "Jim Bottomley" base mitt sold for $355 on ebay. The model JB was one of Rawlings top quality mitts in its day. Overall in very good condition.
