Circa 1968 Spalding "Roger Maris" Personal Model 42-217 for $80 on ebay. Nice looking glove with only moderate wear.

Didn't bring out the big money like the top of the line "Roger Maris" 42-201 below. Note the 2 piece palm with lacing, a Latina invention. A $43 glove circa 1963 and not seen that often for sale. Info from Joe Phillips "Vintage Baseball Glove Catalog Source Book" (indispensable)http://cgi.ebay.com/Look-Up-Your-Vintage-Baseball-Glove-The-Source-Book-/260726717865?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cb485fda9 and the 42-201 pic from http://www.baseballglovecollector.com

Rawlings was owned by Spalding for about 10 years till 1964 and the Rawlings made Spalding gloves in that time period were really top notch as the 42-201 attests. Reminds me of my musical career back in the day when my issue was finding a pre-CBS Fender Strat because the post-CBS Strats lacked that level of quality.

as the buyer of the foxx mitt, i must clear up wrong assumptions as i am not sure what you guys are looking at.
2 small letters (B, H) on the back are the only ink visible on the glove. Front cleaned up really nice.
Some silver still remains.
and give me a few days and the B, H, will fade into the night.
will listen to offers.

Nice pick up on the Foxx mitt, Carmi! Hey, I said it was good looking, but no...nobody listens to me. :)

This Victor, Wright, and Ditson only brought $86 but looked like it needed more than just a little cleaning.

Absolutely beautiful Sonnett "Mike Hershberger" model lasted 2 hours on ebay before a BIN of $225. Great stampings in the pocket as usual with bold and fine lines, script signature, block letter and stylized graphics. Can't quite make out the web description, probably something interesting.

One from the ebay "bargain bin". American Eagle Brand "Warren Spahn" multi-laced finger glove for $20. No rips or tears and moderate wear. Very legible markings in the pocket and nice wrist snugger. Seems like a pretty good deal! On ebay, go to "Sporting Goods", then "Gloves and Mitts". That brings up 10,000 entries. Go to the far left and click on "used". That narrows it down to around 1,300 lisings. Still a lot of junk to wade through to get to little gems like this. Remember, this is where the "Doak" H3 was listed several months ago. One axiom of ebay, "weirdness happens".

I was watching that Spahn American Eagle to see how it would do and think that if it was listed in Vintage Sports Memorabilia>Baseball>Gloves it may have done a bit better. Might clean up nice...
This nice looking Rogers Hornsby Lowe and Campbell was a $269.95 BIN.

I missed on this the first time it sold a year or two ago. Glad I got another shot at it. 8)

Yes, the Sonnett looks like a well designed glove with all the whistles and bells one could want. Being in mint shape doesn't hurt either.
