Pretty impressive list there with a nice assortment of cheap BIN, diamond in the rough rarities, and top shelf centerpieces. I'd swap the Hubbell for the Lefty Grove with the Rainey web though. There were also a fair amount of early crescents in great shape that did well on ebay this year. It was a good year for the hobby.

I went with the fingerless because it could be only time we'll ever see one like it come up for auction. If and when the current owner decides to sell, it probably won't be for many years.

Geez. How can I pick just one? I agree, it was a fun year for rare and tough gloves. Can't wait to see what the coming year will bring. Thanks for putting up the poll Murph.

I had about 80 gloves that could have made the poll but I went with a varity of gloves and time periods. This way we got something from almost every glove making period from 1880's to 1960's Went with the Hubbell because it came with a box

Awfully tough to choose, but I have to go with that two-toned Goldsmith Walter Johnson over the others by the narrowest of margins.

I agree JD, picking one was difficult. The double buckle white cresent would look nice in my cabinet, but being a Spalding guy seeing that tornado palm come up for auction on eBay was really amazing.
If my wife wouldn't of killed me, I would of sold my car and rode my bike to work to make a run at that glove!

The Walter Johnson was up there as a candidate. The number of two toned gloves that showed up this year was mindblowing.

Jerry sent along an updated photo of the palm

do not let this sway your vote

I had the pleasure of cleaning the Tornado Palm and I've got to say; as good as it looks today (and it's amazing), the way it feels on-hand is absolutely out of this world. For all the details, it's one of the coolest gloves in the hobby... and you can use it.

I’ve thanked William profusely already, but want to do it again, publicly. I am astonished at the transformation of the glove. I knew it would clean up nicely, but never imagined it would turn out this nice. I could have cleaned it myself, but an example of this magnitude required the skilled hands of a master, not a hack like me. Thank you Number9!!!

After seeing the Tornado Palm cleaned up, how could I not vote for it? The detail in the craftmanship really pops out. I'm in awe of the cleaning job. How could the posting of the cleaned mitt NOT influence my voting?

Have a happy New Year everyone!

Ken

I also voted for the Spalding "tornado palm" glove mainly from my reaction from its initial listing on ebay. I was really stunned to even see it there and could tell from the ebay photos that it had the potential to clean up nicely. Nice job William! There was no down side to that glove. My personal favorite for the year was the 1888 Sauers glove that is still languishing on ebay for almost 60 days now. a much earlier and more rare glove, It is flawed and looks like a mishmash of parts. The Rodney Dangerfield of gloves this last year.
