If the buyer was just interested in the box they could have spent a lot less in the most recent MEARS auction

murphusa is having some computer issues so I'm helping out for a bit. This lot of three gloves sold in the Leland's auction the other night for $2745.55 - a Rawlings MM4 Mickey Mantle, Rawling DS Duke Snider and Rawlings MT20 Stan Musial - all in the box and auto'd.

a Horace Partridge full web buckle back with splendid tag ended yesterday with 1 bid at $650. I've always liked this glove and would have loved to add it to the collection. If the winning bidder isn't in love when the get it, I'd love to trade.

This stunning Sonnett Lightning did not meet reserve at $521.11. There have been a couple of these that have sold the past 5 years but none went over 500. Auction also included the 1964 catalog and envelope. I would love to have the envelope! :)

I really like the "Bat Web". Great name! Interesting the way it extends over most of the finger and thumb stalls. Kind of the antithesis of the MacG "Spider Web" which was all lacing.

I've probably shared this before but here is the actual Lightning prototype made by Sonnett. It's one of my treasured possessions.
