Glove of the week

I thought I knew a lot about gloves until the whole D&M Joe Jackson discussion happened. This made me think that we needed something to continue to spur that type of discussion. What if we had a section where people select a glove sold on ebay (only because it has the biggest selection) as the "Glove of the Week". We could have a number of nominations, some debate as to which is the better, more important glove, and hopefully some information on the history of the glove, manufacturer, whatever...We could only discuss sold gloves to avoid personal promotion of items being sold.

Any thoughts?

I thought this was a very interesting glove that sold on ebay on October 30. If I remember from the Bulldog's site this is a King Patent style glove with the lacing around the opening on the back of the glove. This was shows off the grommets pretty well and the leather looks to be in good shap.

The glove sold for $260 and attracted 10 bids.

Jeter glove

I don't think it is going to sell. If you watch Jeter and know gloves you associate him with Rawlings. Plus there is just so little wear on the glove I think the term "game used" should be used lightly.

Thanks for the suggestion guys - I like this idea. I will create a section called "Glove of the Week" and feel free to post any eBay or other auction items that you think are worthy of discussion.

Not that it needs any additional promotion, but a Japanese model featuring the King Patent is available this week on eBay. This glove has a number of unique features...king patent, buckle back, and probably the earliest import I've seen on ebay. Plus, the glove looks like it is in absolutely great shape. This one should bring a pretty hefty sum.
