Decided to "tackle" a glove durring the NFL Draft this weekend. Still have some finishing touches but it actually cleaned up better than I though it would. Has anyone found a product for cleaning the cloth tags that works well without harming the fabric?

Great cleaning job! That really looks nice. I use a few drops of Woolite with water and a soft toothbrush to clean the tags. It usually works well, but you have to be very careful if the tag is fraying at all.

I kind of liked the "before" look (just kidding). Super finish. Hope your team's draft picks came thru.
Patch/Tags cleaning: you're right, very delicate work. If I suspect oil underneath doing the discoloring I "DAB" on alcohol, no rubbing, just dabbing and let it dry. I've had about 20% to 75% improvement.
Dirt another issue, and yes be very, very careful if tag is fraying.

I've had good success with rubbing alcohol - I usually put a small amount on a towel or toothbrush and dab it on the tag. I blot it out with a dry towel and then let it sit for a while.
