Show find for March 21, 2009

A year ago at a small show about an hour away I bought a nice Ripon Knitting Works glove from a guy. Usually after I buy a glove from someone I talk to them and find out if they have any thing else. Turns out this guy did and he promised he would bring it to the next local show, which was today about a year later. I try not to take these promises seriously as I know these dealers talk to a lot of people. Well today this gentleman actually kept true to his promise and we ended up filling a void in our collection. We picked up this nice original Bill Doak glove which I had been wanting for quite some time now. The Doak patch is missing but the Rawlings one is still attached and the Doak stampings are strong. I tried taking a picture of the front about 10 different times and it keeps coming out blurry?? Sorry...This guy also had a John Irving Burns basemans glove in pretty good shape but we decided to pass.
