Vintage Baseball Glove Forum

While I'm here in CT I thought I would take some pictures of my dad's gloves and put them up here.

First picture is of his display at the top of the stairs in the house:


Next is a Rogers Hornsby short finger Wilson glove - he's had this for a while but I think it is super neat.


The rest are newer additions to his collection. First up is a Goldsmith Jake Daubert - leather is very soft and inner lining feels great. Stampings are strong and Goldsmith tag is very nice.



This is very old turn of the century 1B mitt that a dealer I know alerted me to. Leather is very soft and glove is thick and fat - nice full web as well. Kind of an oddity.



Last but not least is a great looking Ken-Wel Dazzy Vance.

Neat collection!

Nice display, every collection needs a vintage ball stitching machine like the one in the corner of the pic. They have great eye appeal and always attract alot of attention when someone sees one.

So that's who landed the SGW.com Dazzy....nice looking glove.

The Ken-Wel actually came from someone else who got it out of that auction.

Here are some more gloves. First up is what we always called "The Lobster Claw" - a three finger Victor Sporting Goods glove.




Next up, a Rawlings Bill Doak with black Rawlings tag - this glove is minty!




Here is a Nokona Joff Cross glove made for Athletic Supply Company in Seattle, WA.




Finally, this is a mint Nokona Pinky Higgins glove

All of the items are terrific, but the Daubert and Hornsby are seizure inducingly beautiful! The third glove (full web 1st base mitt) is exceedingly rare. The last one I saw went for $900+ on ebay a few years ago. Now I see what Fred does with his bat money...ha ha. Seriously though, he has an amazing collection. Thank you soo much for showing it to us.

Great gloves. Thanks for sharing them. That lclaw is one odd glove. I have one 3 finger glove and they do seem odd to put on the hand.
