Hurricane D-260, Wilson 1ST base mitt A2843 LHT, and Tom Fresh RTM66. I have never heard of Hurricane. Any help will be appreciated!

Denkert might be a Koufax - I think he was an endorser on those. Hurricane is an import brand. The RTM66 is probably a Rawlings (and it's probably Tresh).

Yes, the Hurricane is an import model glove. Does yours have the blowing palm logo on the wrist label? That has always been one of my favorite glove labels.

I have my late uncle's Hurricane from the 1950's. It is not a quality glove, by any means; the family was not too well-off, back then, if you know what I mean ... not that we are now, either .... but I digress ....
The glove is not that nice of a glove, as I said, but the label is kinda cool. The glove has sentimental value to me, mostly.
Palm on label...

The Hurricane would seem to be in better condition. I am curious to see if i can pinpoint a year for that one. There is one listed on ebay at the moment but the 'blowing palm' makers label is different. I only have one palm with the stars and the one on ebay has two palms which look to be blowing toward each other. Mine is a Hurricane D-260 Trophy Model and is in very good shape as far as overall first impressions.

In the prehistoric days of glove collecting when Dave Bushing and I purchased the Great Kansas Glove Raid, (warehouse find) we bought 30 or 40 or maybe more Hurricane models, two types I think. There were several hundred gloves in the whole purchase. The Wichita Sporting Goods owner, who bought these gloves, must have gotten a heck of a deal. Not bad gloves at all. But we felt we'd taken over a glove orphans home with these as there were 30USA Duke Snider gloves. I think the distributor on these may have named these by playiing off the success of "Hurricane" Hazel, the Milwaukee outfielder who came in to help lead the Braves to their first pennant in 1957 "like a Hurricane." That's just a guess.

I really don't know much about Hurricanes, other than my uncle had one and I like the label. Mine is a Trophy Model D-277. It is either a child's glove, or people back in the 1950's had really small hands! Uncle Bill would have been a Little Leaguer in the early 1950's, so I imagine that was his LL glove.

Thats a great story about a warehouse full of gloves. I think the Hurricane glove here is an adult glove. It feels like a good solid. Thanks for the info guys!
