I think it may have been one of those "I need to have it" kind of gloves.
I sold a Wilson A2004 Ted Williams glove (someone help me with the year please) about 5 years ago on eBay. I picked it up for $40, and then did my thing to it. I sold it for over $400.
I was blown away, and had no clue why the glove went so high.
Well, after all was said and done, the buyer told me that he saw that glove in a store window when he was 13 or so, and it was like $39.95 back in 1959 or something like that. His mom said "no way" to buying it, and so he went all these years without the glove. When he saw the auction he just knew he had to have it.
The guy was so thrilled to have the glove that he took into into his office and showed everyone how proud he was to finally have his Ted Williams glove.
Yeah, I know, most people don't understand what the guy was going through, but I think there are a lot of us out there that can relate...I know I can!
