Nothing other than the fact that sometimes you get two bidders determined to win the auction at any cost and that can set off a bidding war, driving the price up beyond what most experienced glovers would pay.

It's a fairly clean glove, nothing especially rare. Looks to have vinyl trim and be inexpensively made. The term "mint condition" gets thrown around a lot and sometimes a true mint condition glove will bring a premium. But with the darkened palm, apparently relaced fingers and web and the staining, or ink issues on the wrist strap, calling this glove "mint" would be a stretch.

Even in true mint condition, that closing price is higher than the book value. I would probably rate this one in the "excellent" to "near mint" range and the book values there are between $45 and $90. And gloves of this nature rarely reach full book values on eBay- maybe about half that.

Maybe somebody is a particularly big Stanky fan and wanted it at any cost? Maybe someone entered a high proxy bid and that got bumped up with another late bid?

I would imagine that most of the guys here that sell on eBay would love to have such a bidding war for their run-of-the-mill old gloves!
